Teddy Bears Quilt Workshop
About Cheryl Ennis and the Teddy Bear’s Quilt Workshop:
I retired from work in 2004. I thought it would be great to get into my sewing room and finish some UFO's. We all know about UFO’s. I made a resolution to finish one UFO a month until I could find the top of my cutting table. For about two years I was right on track, but now that I am designing the Twinkling Patterns I have slowed down on getting the UFO’s completed and the top of the table is again not in sight.
My love of sewing and quilting was passed on to me from my Grandmother and my Mother. As I got older, married and had a family, I needed to earn some extra money in order to be a “stay at home mom". Quilting was making a resurgence during the l970’s and I took to quilting right away. Through the years I have designed and sewn quilts for others upon request. Then four years ago a friend commissioned me to make her a lighted wall hanging for every holiday month of the year. I delivered the first six right away and the others are still being designed.
The Christmas tree was the first pattern published. Since then I have four other patterns published and another on the way, with more on the drawing board. The hardest part of doing the patterns is being sure all the pieces are available and easy to find. I find a lot of enjoyment in hearing from people who have used one of my patterns and is enjoying the resulting project.
